This 70’ ULDB is a powerful open ocean racer that has been converted to cruising. This 67 year young grandfather sails her single-handed, using the autopilot to maintain the course freeing him up to move about the boat. With a bit of instruction his 12 year old granddaughter was ready to steer in light airs moving along at 6 knots boat speed.

Her 6 year old brother was ready to jump to her command.




But then he went and changed his clothes, put on his lifejacket and promptly fell asleep, confident in his sister’s new-found sailing ability.




Safely anchored near Poet’s Cove, the “skipper” relaxes in the sunset with her Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul, while her grandfather does the dishes.




Astronomical dusk finds the “skipper” and her crew snuggled down for the night with their books.
